He has has been around the Gulf Of Mexico his entire life. As a child, he and his father made 10 trips across the Gulf of Mexico in a sailboat. They sailed to the Bahamas, the Florida Keys, Dry Tortugas, and Cozumel. When David was 15 years old he started working as a deckhand on charter boats. As soon as he was old enough, he got his captains license. He holds a 100 ton masters license. David has been a professional offshore fishing guide since 1981. In April of 1995, David was the Captain of the boat that caught the Texas State Record Red Snapper. It weighed 36.1 lbs and was 39 inches long.
